Grief counseling for the loss and the life around it

There is the loss itself, and then there is everything life asks of you afterward. The empty chair. The ordinary errand. The person you used to call. The future you thought you were going to have.

01 / THE LOSS

Who you miss.

A partner, parent, child, friend, or someone whose place in your life is hard to explain. Sudden deaths, expected deaths, and difficult relationships can leave very different kinds of grief.

02 / THE LIFE AROUND IT

What has changed.

Routines, responsibilities, relationships, and identity. You may be keeping everyone else afloat while wondering where your own sadness, anger, relief, or numbness belongs.

03 / THE UNSEEN LOSS

What others may miss.

Grieving before a death, pregnancy loss, estrangement, or the life you expected. We can name what matters without asking you to justify why it hurts.

Learning to walk with the wound

Making room for life does not mean leaving someone behind.

Some days you may want to talk about the person, the death, or everything left unsaid. Other days you may need help getting through work, parenting, sleep, or a gathering you cannot face. We can make room for both.

Love and connection can change shape after a death. We can explore memories, rituals, unfinished feelings, and what you want to carry with you, without prescribing a particular way to remember or demanding a silver lining.

Why this work matters to me

Grief brought me to this work.

My path into grief work and suicide prevention began with personal loss. That experience is part of why I do this work. It doesn’t mean I know exactly how your grief feels.

It means I take seriously what it asks of you, alongside my clinical experience in grief, crisis, and trauma.

You can talk about anger, relief, guilt, numbness, or the moments you actually feel okay. You can tell the same story again. You don’t have to tidy up your feelings or find a lesson in the loss.

How we work

Space for the loss.
Support for the living.

Some sessions may be about remembering. Others may be about sleeping, getting through work, or facing an anniversary. When guilt or painful thoughts keep looping, we can work with those, too.

I draw from grief-informed and trauma-informed care, ACT, and CBT according to what is useful for you.

We won’t turn grief into a checklist or rush toward closure. We work at your pace, finding ways to live alongside the loss and stay connected to what matters.

Loss can affect how you connect with a partner or experience becoming a parent. Explore couples therapy or fatherhood support if those concerns overlap for you.

Questions about grief therapy

You do not have to grieve on a schedule.

Do I have to move through five stages?

No. Kübler-Ross’s work offers language for some experiences of loss, not a required sequence. Feelings can overlap, return, or never appear. We start with what your grief is actually like.

What if it has been years?

We can talk about loss whether it is recent or has been part of your life for years. Anniversaries, new relationships, parenthood, and other changes may bring different parts of the loss into focus.

What if my relationship with them was complicated?

You can miss someone and feel anger, relief, regret, or hurt. There is room for the relationship you had and the one you needed, without forcing forgiveness or simplifying the story.

How do sessions and payment work?

Online individual therapy is available for clients located in Florida and Pennsylvania. Private-pay sessions are $140. Insurance may be available through Headway depending on your plan and current availability. We can discuss fit in a free consultation.

A place to begin

There is room for your grief here.

Start with who you miss, what hurts, or simply “I don’t know how to do this.” That’s enough to begin.
