Meet Andrew Richey, LCSW
THE PERSON BEHIND THE PRACTICE
You might be the person everyone relies on. The partner, the parent, the leader who holds it all together.
But somewhere between managing high-stakes demands and showing up for everyone else, your own needs, identity, and sense of meaning got pushed to the back burner.
Our work together makes room for you to put yourself back on the table.
A clinician’s perspective. A leader’s experience.
I’m Andrew Richey, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My path into this work, particularly grief and suicide prevention, began with personal loss. That experience remains at the heart of why I do what I do.
Much of my practice centers on men’s mental health, fatherhood, grief, relationships, and the identity shifts that come with life’s transitions. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming and welcomes people across all identities and family structures.
I’m also a husband and father to three incredible kids. So when I talk about the wild transitions of family life and trying to keep your head above water, I’m speaking from the trenches, too.
I’ve lived and worked across the country, but Philadelphia and the Tampa Bay Area will always feel like home.
Leader. Therapist. Human.
Before focusing on my clinical practice, I served as a system senior director in healthcare, leading approximately 120 professionals across nine hospitals.
That experience, alongside years working in crisis and trauma, gave me a unique perspective on the intersection of human needs, organizational demands, and the silent grind of carrying responsibility for everyone else.
I understand the systems you operate in. But my focus is always on you, the person navigating them.
Disrupting the familiar
People often come to therapy feeling stuck. They’re tired of the same arguments, exhausted by work, or questioning how they got where they are.
Yet even when things aren’t working, the familiar can feel safer than change.
We stay in what we know, even when it’s hurting us.
Our work centers on identity, self-worth, and understanding the patterns keeping you stuck. Together, we challenge those patterns, interrupt the autopilot, and build the confidence to navigate what’s next.
The goal isn’t to become somebody else. It’s to become a disrupter in your own life.
How we work together
My style is grounded, conversational, and direct. We skip the unnecessary clinical jargon and talk about what’s actually going on, with room for humor, difficult conversations, and the messier parts of being human.
I draw from CBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and Gottman-informed couples work, connecting greater self-understanding with meaningful change.
You don’t need to have it all figured out or know the right words to start.
Come as you are, and we’ll figure out the rest together.
