Teen therapy & adolescent counseling
Teen therapy for anxiety, identity, and life changes
School, friendships, family, the future, and the person you are becoming. Sometimes everyone has an opinion about your life before you have had room to work out your own.
01 / Pressure
When everything feels like a test.
Overthinking a text. Putting something off because you’re afraid to get it wrong. Feeling like everyone else has it figured out. We look at what’s making things harder and practice ways to handle the pressure.
02 / Identity & connection
Who you are. Where you fit.
Friendships, dating, family tension, gender, sexuality, and belonging. A space to explore what matters to you without having to perform someone else's version of yourself.
03 / Loss & change
When life shifts underneath you.
Bereavement, separation, transitions, and experiences that leave you feeling unsettled. Your grief and your questions deserve attention, even when others expect you to move on.
A real conversation
You do not need a perfect explanation for why things feel hard.
You don’t have to give a speech about your feelings. We can start with the thing that happened this week, the person you’re frustrated with, or why you didn’t want to come. I’m conversational and direct, with experience working with teens in trauma and crisis settings.
We figure out what is useful together.
For teens
Your perspective belongs here.
I’m Andrew Richey, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. We look at the thoughts that get loud, what you do when you’re stressed, and what matters to you. CBT, ACT, and motivational interviewing give us practical ways to work on those things without someone else deciding who you should be.
Our conversations make room for different identities, backgrounds, and family experiences. You can bring the questions you are still figuring out.
How we work together →For parents & caregivers
Support without taking over.
When your teen pulls away, it’s hard to know whether to ask another question or give them space. We work on how to stay connected, set boundaries, and support change without turning every conversation into a check-in or a lecture. Your teen also needs room to build a voice of their own.
Before we begin, we will talk through consent, confidentiality, safety, and what communication with caregivers will look like. Those expectations should be clear to everyone.
Practical questions
A clearer place to start.
Is teen therapy available online?
I offer online therapy in Florida and Pennsylvania. We will discuss whether telehealth is a suitable fit for the teen's needs and whether there is a private space for sessions.
What if my teen is unsure about therapy?
That is worth talking about openly. We can begin by understanding their concerns and what they might want help with, rather than assuming everyone has the same goals.
Are sessions confidential?
We will explain privacy and its limits before treatment begins, including safety concerns and the circumstances in which caregiver involvement or disclosure may be necessary.
What is the rate? Can we use insurance?
Individual therapy is $140 per session. Insurance may be available through Headway depending on the plan and eligibility. We can clarify those details during an initial conversation.
A place to begin
We can begin with a conversation.
Whether you’re a teen or a caregiver, you don’t need all the answers before reaching out. We can talk about what’s happening and whether working together feels like a fit.
